What does everyone take for calcium or other supplements?
I take Citrical plus D slow release 1,200
Going by instructions on the bottle . Eat with it too. Well in the mornings when I wake up. I feel nauseated , and head ache , I thought this was suppose to be easy on your stomach. I about give up . Seems my body rejects everything .

I take these too but only one since I drink about 12 ounces of milk everyday, eat a handful of almonds and a cheese stick. My doc thought the full dose was too much for me. At one point my blood calcium was too high.
Hi! I take Caltrate minis. A lot smaller than regular calcium pills, which are SO huge. They also contain D3. Two in the AM and two in the PM, with meals. This adds up to 1200mg calcium and 3200 mg of vitamin D
You should try Caltrate minis with D3 and mineral. It’s helped me a lot, and no nausea or headaches in the AM
No side effects at all!

Link for info on Calcium Hydroxyappetite which is what my wonderful doctor in my former residence state recommended to me as the best and most absorbable form of calcium. I have checked and found that to be true from my research. Citrate is reported to be the worst.
Way too much too read . The Post asked what people take ? Skimmed through the pages and never did see it . Lol . Is this the right link ?

Has anyone heard of and/or taking Bonesyl (supports bone formation and increases calcium levels)?
Well, this was the link that I got when I did a search for this form of calcium.
I suggest that if you want to know about it do a search and then maybe the result will be better for you.
I was taking it and stopped due to $$. I can only afford so many supplements and am already taking others my doctor recommended I take. Drugstore medications of course are covered under insurance but the natural things are not. I was shocked when my insurance drugstore card covered the homeopathic allergy remedies! What a great benefit since they work and no side effects. Seasonal allergies where I live are the pits! So maybe now I can start up the Hydroxyappetite again. Yay.
You might want to be careful starting collagen. I have taken 1 gram each day for two days and am seeing an effect with regard to bathroom usage. Not diarrhea but getting close to it.
Refreshing positive attitude!! Good for you - keep it going. Positive energy is contagious so hopefully those around you catch it.
Wondering what you mean by "citrate is the worst". It is much better absorbed than carbonate and gentler on the stomach as well. Calcium Hydroxyapatite seems to have a positive effect on bone (it is cow bone afterall) but with caveats. Studies indicate that it increases phosphate levels in the blood so if you are prone to kidney stones, it's something you might want to look into. I take some hydroxyapatite but minimize its usage and balance my intake with calcium citrate, supportive nutrient supplementation and highly nutritive foods (which is always your best bet).
Sue,
Do you mind to share what brand you use? It’s overwhelming when I start looking.
I’m also confused about the Calcium & Vitamin D. My endocrinologist also recommended Citracal. By the way, I currently am on my 2nd year of Forteo. Praying for positive results. I have very bad osteoporosis as well as an “S” curve that’s getting worse.
Thank you,
Diane
