Best Kegel App?
Inquiring for my husband (71, G8, PSMA PET clean, surgery scheduled 9/7). Has been doing his kegels religiously, but would like an app to keep him on schedule. What worked for you?

I HIGHLY recommend getting a prescription from his urologist/surgeon for Physical Therapy at a clinic where the people are educated and trained in PT for Prostate Cancer patients. Here he will learn the proper ways to exercise.
I also bought, on Amazon, Whatafit resistance bands to exercise at home.
I did 4-5 weeks of such PT prior to me RALP and several more weeks after the catheter was removed.
I was fully continent after surgery.
Best of luck to y’all!
2 or 3 visits to a professional PT will gave me directions that I could not DIY.
Good luck with your procedure.
I found this book which I purchased on Kindle to be helpful. 10 week structured, detailed program for pelvic floor PT specifically after radical prostatectomy. By the end of the program, I was dry...

Thanks all. Very helpful.
The kegels are really important, but also a surgeon who specializes in nerve avoidance is critical. These nerves around the prostate control bladder function, blood flow to penis etc. Taking special care during surgery can minimize the risks post surgery.
I found the Easy Kegel app to be very helpful.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery .
My husband has surgery scheduled with a top nerve sparing surgeon. Fingers crossed.
Some of us weren't able to enjoy the benefits of nerve sparing however in my case, I do have "mostly" bladder control with leakage only after a certain amount of urine built up in the bladder. So obviously *SOME* percentage of musculature is working!
I did not have surgery just 30 rounds of proton beam radiation treatments.
My urine flow velocity returned after about a month but now I get very urgent needs to urinate and if I don't get leakage as can't hold it back. I have offset this by going to bathroom before an urgent need to do and had helped.
Is this something others have experience? And if so did it get better with time?
I know my entire prostrate was done including margins and I expect some damage to nerves and muscles in this area. Would help is similar issues were also had by others with radiation therapy and if improves with time.
I did discuss with primary care doctor and says the radiation sometimes does affect the surrounding muscles and nerves.
Do kegels and other pelvic floor work every day before surgery. I went on youtube and found the 10 best exercises for pelvic floor training for men. Also there are several good video on kegel training. I do, 1 set of 10 intense contractions hold 2 sec pause 2 sec. between each, and 10 less intense but hold for 10-15 sec. each. rest for same amount. 6 times a day. good luck!
