Does anyone suffer from plantar fasciitis? Do you have any suggestions on attaining some pain relief?

Years ago I had it so bad that I couldn't walk. I went to a Podiatrist who gave me a shot of cortisone in my foot (hurt like crap) and then gave me a boot that I had to wear to bed that kept my foot straight up. Also was told to wear really supportive shoes and to not go barefoot. It was a pain however after 6 months I no longer had any pain at all and it's been over 15 years. If you google exercises there are some that you can do that help as well but I'd have to look for them.

Hi @linda125, the things that helped me most were wearing flexible sock- like splints at night that kept the toes slightly bent forward and custom orthotics. Supportive shoes and no going barefoot as @cindymattern noted above. If I feel a little pain coming back, I wear the splints for a few nights, but it's been years and I haven't had a flareup. I also think that ice is supposed to be beneficial.
