I had a hip replacement seventeen years ago at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in NYC and have never had a problem with it. I may need revision surgery due to age of the material and the state of the art back then was such that a life span of the replacement was fifteen years. I expect to go to HSS for revision if that becomes necessary. From what I have researched, their revision process is a success.
