Unable to keep food down

Posted by hikeema123 @hikeema123, Aug 9, 2023

Hello everyone I have had this swallowing issues for over two years now I have list over 60 pounds because of me unable to resolve my issues. I will like to know if by me having a prolapsed rectum is that the reason why I'm having digestive issues like having a feeling of something always being stuck in my throat I burp sooooo much it's driving me crazy every time I burp it doesn't come up completely and I have to literally manually regurgitate to bring the burp up and there comes my food. I have went to several gastroenterologist and no one seems to see anything. Please help anyone with a doctor or solution.

look at this site - and maybe if they cannot help you they can refer you to someone who can

yes, it is a surgeon - the doctor who is "fixing" my problem is also a surgeon - they specialize in digestive disorders and do a lot of the things endoscopically.

i just googled "doctors in irvington new jersey specializing in achalasia" - you can find more if you do this

I would suggest seeing an ear nose throat specialist and having your throat examined. Not being able to swallow or having food stuck in the throat plus weight loss are serious signs that something is wrong especially for a smoker.

Dysphagia, consult a gastroenterologist

I deep wet belch over 1000 x a day and night , non stop churning gut , extremely fatigued. Done over 6 Gastro Drs . I have 6 diagnoses done everything , tried everything holistic, RX , have gastro cardiac symptoms w/ it ( pvcs ). No Drs have helped not even Mayo Clinic.
My brother had same symptoms as you for 1.5 years . Could only eat soup , smoothies .. went to all kinds of Dr’s .
Finally saw one that put him on small dose of prednisone daily .
That was what finally helped him .
He even had his esophagus dilated 2 x ( didn’t help ) before he was put on it. May want to try that .
Oh lord life is hard !

You live close to Manhattan where they have some of the top hospitals with outstanding GI departments. Such as
NYU Langone
Mount Sinai
Columbia Presbyterian
Take a look at them and contact them. The testing you have had so far is incomplete.
Wishing you well!
