Anyone Have Exp w/T-6 Fracture & Weighted Vest?
Does anyone with a T-6 compression fracture have experience wearing a weighted vest? What type and how many lbs? Did it help? I’m 76. My Dexa is -4.5. I’ve started PT in our small town, and the therapist is recommending one. The local endocrinologist has only recommended daily walking and wants me to start Evenity after my a-fib is better controlled - she says maybe in one year. No other recommendations. My a-fib may never be better controlled. I’m wondering if I should find/consult with another endocrinologist in the city, 3 hours away. I’m frustrated. So glad I found this group.

I find tai chi much more helpful than yoga, for those of us with advanced osteoporosis and/or fractures!
@ilovetrees What is the name of the Portland Clinic that specializes in osteoporosis?
That’s so funny you mention stomping. A few months ago on the treadmill I decided to stomp, figuring it might be a bit of a vibration and I was too cheap to buy the good vibration machine (Altho may change mind now). I didn’t keep it up because I was a little worried it could cause a fracture but seeing your post I may start again. I also read somewhere - maybe that stupid Women’s World magazine but maybe it was in a Margaret Martin post, that there was some study, women who did 7 heel drops 3X a day - I would do before each meal - increased bone density. A heel drop is like half a stomp.
I now before shot eat Ezekiel toast with Good brand cottage cheese on it, glass of orange juice with himilayan salt in it
And I don’t get the racey heartbeat as much and less headache and less lightheadedness
@cloud60 yay!
Windyshores is someone who posts here and has the best Tymlos suggestions on this board.
Is heal drop done on a stair or just on a floor?
I do that on the elliptical a lot if it’s just lifting heels and dropping them
Hello @teb - I just went back through the Mayo posts I sav d last August to find yours. I wanted you to know I did get on a wait list for Dr Burford, and I saw her this week. She’s wonderful. Thank you again so very much!

What are you doing for osteoporosis PT and how are you now?
Also, what are you taking for your arrhythmias? Have they gotten better?
oh, that's so kind of you to let me know. Glad it has worked out for you. 🙂
