I have taken seroquil for ten years for PTSD and anxiety. I also have 10 lorazepam per month. This seems to work well unless I am going thu a difficult situation. I consider a difficult situation is when my elderly dog passed away.

Hi, @meisha2019, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Thanks for sharing your experiences on quetiapine (Seroquel) and Lorazepam.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your dog passing away. Pets are like family members to many, and it's so difficult to lose them.

I might suggest two other discussions on Connect you may be interested in:

- on grieving https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/the-journey-of-grieving

- on pets and health, if you want to talk about your dog in this light at this time https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/what-pets-can-do-health-and-healing

Since you mentioned this combination works well unless you are going through a very difficult situation like loss of your dog, I wanted to invite @hopeful33250 @lioness @jakedduck1 @mizmaui444 @giffsmith and others in this discussion to return and offer their input related to situations in which mental health medications you are taking do not quite "cover" the challenge.

What have you done to manage when something like this has happened, @meisha2019?
