Seroquel for anxiety, social anxiety & PTSD
I have had anxiety & social anxiety since childhood, i am 59 female. My PCP has always treated me I have been on Xanax for at least 15 years I currently take a half milligram at bedtime on a regular basis and I take a half a milligram whenever I'm having an anxiety issue. I only get 24 1 milligram pills per month so I make them last all month. I have tried Prozac but I did not like the way that it made me feel. I also tried Cymbalta and had a major panic attack after just two pills and had to go on high doses of Xanax and Xanax XR to get through that. My PCP now wants me to take Seroquel titrated up to 200 milligrams per night. After reading all the side effects of it it literally gave me an anxiety attack just reading it. I know when I tell him that I can't take this pill he's going to be upset with me has that's the way he is. Anyone have used Seroquel for anxiety and PTSD here. Thank you.

Hi, @flyingfree53 - welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I can imagine this has been a very difficult time with the divorce, bankruptcy and foreclosure on your home. Sounds like you've tried many treatments for your anxiety and depression. Glad to hear your transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) was successful and helped you feel like a new person.
I'd like you to meet @parus @jakedduck1 @gailb @tartanandi @frankie @hopeful33250 and others. Perhaps some members will have questions for you on the treatments you've been through.

How have things gone with your housing and career since some of these major issues occurred?
@jakedduck1 Yes, I did have cataract surgery. A tad slow with my reply. Hope your holidays are good.
@parus
Hi Paris
Thanks, I had surgery too a couple years ago maybe less. Mine are starting to come back. Oh the joys of getting old.
Have a good day,
Jake
@jakedduck1 So true Takes grit @guts to get through the aging process
@lioness It surely does!!! Time for this old person to go to bed. I get up way ahead of the chickens and beat them to bed.
@parus
Hi
I can’t believe it. Still the middle of the day!!! I go to bed probably when you’re getting up
Jake
@parus. Why? Your not working any more are you? Even when I worked I didn't get up till 9 or so.
@lioness Just how I am wired. No other reason. Maybe it is the farm kid in me??@jakedduck Are you an Aussie??
@parus
That’s funny!!! I’m in California. You must be on the east coast. I think you need rewired.
Jake
@jakedduck1 I live in Hoosiertucky. Yup, I need rewired. Read your words and started laughing. 3 hour time difference-I think. Rewired. How funny. So agree with you. Too old for rewiring. Still laughing...
