Environmental exposures

Terribly upsetting. Yesterday, without warning, a crop duster sprayed a field less than 200' from our door. The wind was coming directly for us. The helicopter flew low over our home and yard a number of times, circling with that frightening sound, causing me to feel utterly helpless with toxic chemical spillage over my house and its drift to our doors and windows. Home is supposed to be a safe place. . . how can we make it so with such a dangerous intrusion like this upon our lives? For those of you who have been through breast cancer (or any cancer), you understand the fear of being exposed to environmental hazards. It's been 3 1/2 years since my diagnosis. My body didn't tolerate those chemicals before cancer and chemo, and it surely does not now. This is not even to speak of the emotional trauma this onslaught caused me. Of course, we contacted the person who works the land, and then the crop dusting company. Even as the sounds overhead caused a deep panic within me, there was nothing I could do but wait until it was over and remain in my home after. I contacted our lawyer and our state land and stewardship department, in hopes of reporting the negligence and trespassing. How do we live in a land that so carelessly puts each of us at risk, even within the safety of our own home? What if I had not been in my home at the moment the threat struck? The yard? On my bicycle? With my dogs? With my grandchildren? Has anyone had an experience like mine? What did you do?

Hello. Do you have well water? Get it tested. Get your blood tested. Find out what was sprayed, to test for the correct pesticides. How many times a year for how many years. Contact EWG.org. Contact Environmental Health Unit Dallas. I have been there. I found out I had high Chlordane levels from my landlord. Sprayed it numerous times a year while my breasts were forming. At the time they were treating and detoxing Gulf War Veterans. They were exposed to huge amounts of pesticides. Their tents, Clothes and blankets were soaked in pesticides. They were exposed to the fires burning military toxic trash. They bathed in water from tanks that had held fuel oil. A lot of cancer and M.S.

Hello, again. I made 2 mistakes on my last comment. Chalk it up to worries about my breast cancer. It is The Environmental Health Center Dallas. And the Gulf War military people were taking showers in water from tanks that had previously contained Jet Fuel. The Vets hospital couldn't find anything wrong with them. Not only did they have numerous abnormal blood tests, dealing with the immune system, but when they were doing the protocol for sauna detox, the stench coming out of their pores smelled like petroleum. My sister witnessed this. Dr. Sherry Rogers is another doctor to contact. You May have to move. People who are exposed to many years of pesticides are much more likely to get Parkinsons. It is in the medical literature.
