Treating PMR with Prednisone and Hydroxychloroquine

I was on 10 mg of prednisone (P) from 5 mg due to having to stop Aleve. The hydroxychloroquine has allowed me to reduce P to 5 mg and the plan is to continue to reduce P. I have been on and off P due to PMR for 30 years. If there were an easy way for those interested in my PMR history you can search for my posts with my id of jchamilt2002.

I have a rheumy appointment this week. I’m now on 6 mg of prednisone but the pain is lasting longer in the day instead of just mornings. The doc has me on a taper of 1 mg every 2 weeks. I wonder if that’s too fast. I’ll talk about adding hydroxy. Can you share your tapering schedule?
