Bi-Rad C4 - 50-95% malignancy.
I had a mammogram last June and a repeat mammogram. I was told it was fine. This year I’ve had a mammogram and a repeat along with an ultrasound. Findings: “FINDINGS: On focused ultrasound there is a hypoechoic irregular shaped mass with antiparallel orientation and indistinct margins. There is some posterior acoustic shadowing. No calcifications are seen in the mass. IMPRESSION BI-RADS 4C -- high suspicion for malignancy. Ultrasound-guided biopsy is recommended. ACR BI-RADS Category 4C: Suspicious abnormality; High suspicion for malignancy.”
No doctor has spoken to me to explain any of this. My MRI and biopsy isn’t until 8/17. I’m so anxious and consumed right now it’s hard to function. Please help!

I would call the doctor and ask him to explain what it means prior to having the biopsy. I had my yearly mammogram in Nov, called back for 2nd mammogram, along with ultrasound and biopsy, that were all done the same day. It looks like that they can't rule out cancer so they want to do further testing, as was my case. I also had a breast MRI done later. That is done where you lie face down, you will have an iv. I know the anxiety is overwhelming. I have been there. I will say a prayer for you. I found that listening to meditations for anxiety helped me. You can find them on youtube. Also, call and see if they have had any cancellations, maybe they can put you on the list. The waiting is so hard.
I had to look 4C up to remember:
4A. Low suspicion for cancer or malignant findings.
4B. Moderate suspicion for cancer or malignant findings.
4C. High suspicion for cancerous or malignant findings.
Many of us had bad news and are now doing well. I had grade 3, surgery, hormonal meds, and am 8 1/2 years out.
Waiting is hard. This is the hardest part. Once you have a plan, you just do it. I walked, watched a lot of Netflix and asked the doc for a few Ativan! And yes, call for a cancellation (10am is a good time).
Thanks so much for responding and prayers! I will check out the meditations.
Thanks so much! I did call at 10, but no openings yet. It’s good to hear you’re doing so well!
Hello! I'm new to all of this and I'm concerned, as well. The only thing I can tell you is too keep up your faith high and like my radiologist told me, we are fighters and we have to stay positive in able to win this battle. I know the feeling, but we are strong and we will get thru all of it. Blessings and positive vibes 🙂
Blessings to you as well! I know you said you’re new to all this too. If you don’t mind me asking where are you at in the process?
I too was in your situation in April of this year. I was terrified and my mind wouldn’t let me rest at all. Eventually I ended up getting some Ativan to help wit huh the anxiety. I ended up having a biopsy with a surgical marker or clip placed during the biopsy. My results came back positive for invasive ductal carcinoma. Everything seems overwhelming at the moment…but once you see a surgeon and have a plan, you will feel better and like you have some control over a situation that you have no control of. Be strong and know that you have a support group here that understands. Wishing the best for you. 💜
I so appreciate being able to say how I truly feel in this group. Also, I know the answers I get on here is from ladies who are or have been where I am now. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. 🙂
