Adding Oral Estrogen on Post menopause woman
I’m 66 years old with no breast cancer. Do any of you have experience adding a low dosage oral estrogen to maintain or encourage bone growth?

I'm not sure we can determine efficacy of strontium, melatonin and micronutrients from the MOTS trial as it was a very small study with only 10 women receiving this protocol. In addition, I don't think cofounders of these participants; exercise and nutrition protocols, etc, were mentioned unless I missed that. Larger studies are definitely needed to determine the safety and efficacy of strontium. I couldn't find the Coombs study.
Hi, I appreciate your reply but was a little confused how strontium and estrogen have in common?
Sorry its the COMB study not coombs.
oh sorry, that was in response to a previous reply on this thread siting the study. I should have hit reply to that comment as a direct response. Sorry for the confusion.
It’s fine, I must have missed the previous reply post. I apologize for the confusion.
no worries. my mistake for not directly replying. will remember to do so in the future! helps to keep track of comments and how they relate!
Yes, I am on a low dose of estrogen patch for osteoporosis and over 70.
I have severe osteoporosis.
How long have you been on the estrogen and have you had a bone density after taking estrogen? If so, has your bones remained the same, loss bone or gained bone?
I’ve only been on it for a few wks. I will get a scan after a year. I may go on Forteo. I will do more research. I will continue the low dose of estrogen only, not progesterone.
Keep us posted. Is there a reason why no Progesterone? Did the dr recommend not too?
I’m just asking to learn, as I want to see if I can get on that patch. I have also learned some people do use progesterone too; however, I don’t know anymore than that.
