Hello all, that have been affected by shingles. I heard about how an OTC item can be of great use with the elusive and painful symptoms of shingles. Google 'Tagament'....very interesting studies and well-researched clinical trials.
Tagamet is primarily used for digestive problems...but has been shown to be of great support for the shingles virus. Amazing results.
I wish you all the best with this terrible affliction.

That’s very interesting. When I had the misfortune of getting shingles, I was going through chemo-radiation. My oncologist quickly got me on the prescription anti-viral to reportedly help lessen the duration/severity, but told me to get some liquid Maalox (not Mylanta, he said Maalox) to pour on the outbreak area as a topical, as one would use a calomine type lotion. Interesting that it’s the same type of GI product like you’ve discovered. I’ll add that in 2020 for whatever reason I couldn’t find Maalox ANYWHERE. I called around, online shopped to no avail. I finally found, on Amazon, a generic equivalent for a reasonable price that I could get sent overnight, and I will say it worked just like my oncologist said! I haven’t needed to look for Maalox for anything since then. I’m not sure if 2020 Pandemic caused a shortage back then, but if it’s available now I’d recommend it for a topical shingles remedy.
