I take gabapentin (total of 2400 mg daily for muscle spasms and nerve pain), baclofen (10 mg tid - muscle relaxant), buproprion (600 mg - antidepressant), and tramadol (50 m,g tid for pain). Only side effects are some lightheadedness and sleepiness (a great help with sleeping more than 1 - 3 hours!) but definitely a Huge improvement for major leg spasms.
I wish you good luck in your journey.
Why are you saying Gabepentin is wicked? I've been using it for leg pain for a long time. It is a drug that has been around for a long time and known to be safe.
Hello, I have not ever felt an effect of Gabepentin for back pain of arthritis and degeneration. I understand that a positive relief effect requires large dosing and three times daily. It is said to be as wicked as long acting opiates in the event of stopping and withdrawal. Providers seem to utilize Gabepentin as a "first-go-to" for many symptoms - because it is considered to be safe. I say, Gabepentin has been ineffective and dangerous in the withdrawal aspect. Important for all to remember that Tramadol is an opiate and after long term use requires a tapered withdrawal process.
Unless it isn't and cahnges your life. I understand that everyone reacts differently to a drug. In my case, it helped me gat my life back. Sorry that you had a bad experience. I tried Baclofen and had a poor experience. Yet there are lots of folks who can take it with no problems.
