I think there are some studies that show it occurs more frequently in countries like us and the Scandinavia that consume a lot of dairy. There's also that whole thing about the acid/alkaline and dairy makes the acid.

On the other hand, I know I read somewhere that plant based dieters have more osteoporosis. (This is depressing to me, because plant based is BETTER for breast cancer).

It always depends who did the study.I bet the study that plant based dieters have more osteoporosis was a sponsored by some dairy company.

Here is the study that compares OP statistics in the world. Surprise, the global leader is Japan (26%), then comes the US (21%), and Germany (14%). Interesting, because I only know that Japan has a fish based diet. What else can contribute?
