Cramping Fisciculation Syndrome
Has anyone heard of any successful therapies for CFS. I have had this for 8 years. It initially was marked by muscle twitch and severe thigh cramps. Now evolved to constant calf and foot pain. Disrupts sleep. I also have Crohn’s. Has anyone heard of using low dose naltrexone for either of these conditions?

CFS is not a very common disease and some people have a great deal of discomfort and pain. Many times the disorder goes away on its own but other cases it is treated in ways similar to treatment of peripheral neuropathy. Once the diagnosis is made for CFS the primary treatment is pain management. Pain management specialist are using many different drugs to control pain and this does include Naltrexone.
Have you had an EMG to make the diagnosis? I hope things get better for you soon.

I too have the same symptoms and in the past Gabapentin helped calm the nerve action in my legs when I slept so that I was interrupted less during sleep, but it never stopped the pulsing, twitching and cramping completely. Still, I was getting more sleep. A very firm mattress with no top padding of any kind seemed to ease the symptoms quite a bit too and just this week I discovered that sleeping with a few pillows to change the position of my spine helped a lot. I have stopped taking Gabapentin and I’ve had 4 very good nights since doing this. I do not have these symptoms at any other time other than when I sleep and I have never had any pain, so all of my symptoms may not match yours. But maybe there’s something here that will help.

Thanks very much, I have been using pillows designed to keep your spine aligned when side sleeping. Started doing that for sciatica. Helped a lot with that but not the CFS.
Well my new pillow routine does not aim to keep my spine aligned. I am now sleeping at a 45 degree angle to my bed. Alignment in the past did nothing to help.
I have never heard of CFS. I have had cramping for approximately 2 months now. The cramps occurred only in the mornings when I woke up and did a little body stretch in bed, calves and feet cramps. Now I get cramps throughout the night and (not getting good sleep) and during the day. The cramps have escalated to the calves, feet, shins, ankles hamstrings and hands. The hand and hamstring cramps have only occurred during the day. Been taking potassium, magnesium glynicate, drinking electrolytes, and eating bananas every day. Nothing seems to help.
Two things that I know trigger cramps in my legs are not enough water and salt. I do not tuck in bedding so it doesn’t pull my feet down triggering calf cramps and so I can get out of bed quickly. Cramps are miserable. Hope yours improve.
Quinine water seems to help when you get cramps in your feet and legs in the middle of the night. Give it a try. I was also told about pickle juice but I’m not sure I want to try that.
I had severe foot cramps at night and occasionally, even in the daytime, as well. Horrible. Finally, out of desperation, I tried something I saw on YouTube. Braggs Organic Vinegar, one tablespoon, three times per day. I mix it with 4 oz of lemon Crystal Lite, but you can mix it with anything to make it more tolerable. I have not had any cramps since is started with the vinegar. Worth a try.
