Anyone wish to join discussion? One year esophageal cancer-free

Posted by naomicanada @naomicanada, Jul 27, 2023

Hi my mother is 1 year post surgery - scan shows no cancer.
She was stage 2 than after surgery stage 3 because of one lymph node.
She is almost done with opdivo (immunotherapy).
I would like to create a group of survivor after 1 year and + to give me hope !
Naomi from Canada

Interested in more discussions like this? Go to the Esophageal Cancer Support Group.

Sounds like a good idea to me, count me in. However, I have my surgery next Tuesday so hope I can join the elite group one year from now.

@naomicanada it's been quite a year for you and your mom, and that adorable little baby in the photo. I adjusted the title of your discussion to reflect the theme of this discussion group for esophageal patients and caregivers one year post diagnosis.

How are YOU doing?

We conduct twice weekly free Zoom calls for us EC patients and caregivers. In fact ZZonner above just popped in on his first call just yesterday... you'd have to ask him what he thought. We also have a few Canadians on every call as well. Would you like the free codes? Our calls are Wednesdays at 6pm Eastern, and Sundays at 9am Eastern. And we have stage 1 thru 4 on our calls, as well as some who just had their surgeries in the past weeks or months, and some who had their esophagectomies 10 to 20 years ago.

Be well.

I had my esophagectomy on March 29. Early find, no need for chemo/radiation. Eating without feeling sick is problematic. I will try to join tomorrow’s Zoom. Thx.

Gary and the gang hold a very informative, casual meeting where you can ask any and all questions from folks that are living this nightmare, but with a positive attitude. The medical community is great for techy stuff, but they have not walked in our shoes. I strongly encourage everyone to join into the Zoom to check it out.

I have no clue... I never use a link, I just go to the Zoom login page, hit the little blue "join" button up top, then in a few seconds, a big blue "Join Meeting " appears in the middle of the screen, then I enter our Zoom codes...

This is how I've been going in the past 2 years. Then you have to enable your video and microphone.

Be well.
