What do I need to know about NETS?

My best advice is to have the surgery if your doctor recommends it. Don't be afraid of it. Resection seems to be the gold standard of dealing with tumors. At least that's what I have gleaned from my year's journey since diagnosis of a PNET in July 2022 through FNAC and dota pet scan. (1.8 cm well differentiated NET, tail of pancreas). Wait and watch is not an exact science, whereas resection, although quite challenging, is a full on decision with immediate results. Some of us need that course of action. I certainly did. I was lucky to have no adverse complications with the spleen saving distal pancreatomy i had in June 22. It's no cake walk, but it's not something to be dreaded either. I'm very humble about my prospects. Maybe this surgery will buy me a few good years, maybe it will cure the cancer. My father was a surgeon and i grew up believing in surgery. Your surgeon should be very experienced and you should trust him. Don't do it if these qualifications are not met. But then, go for it. Power through the pain, get out of your hospital bed, walk it off. Eyes on the prize. I know it's not this simple for everyone, but it was for me. Keep the faith, be grateful for blessings, every moment of each of our lives count. 🙏

Thanks for sharing this video. As advances in medicine are rapidly growing, and as this video is from 2020, I'm hoping that today's info is even more promising. For those on Lanreotide, they are planning to come out in 2024 with a battery-operated self-injection (for those who want to travel etc).
