Bone Coach - How do you know it works?

Posted by sheilad1 @sheilad1, Dec 13, 2022

I have seen several people here joined Bone Coach. How do you know your osteoperosis is better. The testimonials talk about general health improving which adherence to any healthy diet may have done the same.
There is no science shown. It's pricey but worth it if it works.

You may only see testimonials regarding , Bone coach , Kevin Ellis, and his team, so you may wonder , I guess that’s fair, but I will tell you he was one of the people that was a guest speaker highlighted in a week long symposium earlier this spring ; “More Natural Approaches to bone Health and Osteoporosis. Obviously, being one of their lecturers adds to the credibility of his program. Just a little background…. He was diagnosed with Osteoporosis in his thirties, was depressed , just newly married with a child…. And freaked out, as we all do. After that he settled down and did a ton of research to help his own situation in life. It was found out he had celiacs that was never diagnosed even though he may have been eating good he hadn’t for years been able to absorb the nutrients we need that help building and maintaining bone. I have had emails back and forth with him , directly , cause I’m on the fence with joining his program as I have been doing a lot of my own research, but still May because even though I have learned a lot, there still are things I could learn from his and his team. He has a way of presenting info that is so simple and easy to understand and I love. Keep an open mind, and do what you feel works for you.

I am trying to avoid going on anything but having a hard time finding bone strengthening exercises which is a whole program, preferably online. As you mention, there is a lot of scam out there.
Do you know of anything that might be available online which is a good program?

I have been researching and found a few possibilities. I like Osteoprofitness. It seems simple and I don't know if it increases as it goes since I only checked out the trial period. I am now looking at Buff Bones or even getwellen.com ... Or Onero online. I am impressed with the new knowledge I now have of how important IMPACT exercises are. We need a balance between strength training, balance, cardio and impact. And there are specific cardio that are good for bone loading like jumping, stair climbing, or even walking. I've already learned some new things in my new search to find more support.

You seem to have found some really good information. Yes, High impact interval training (HIIT ) is the one of the best for building your bones. Specific exercises to build none is out there in a variety of places to be discussed. Because I tripped across Bone Coach as one place, there are other places. Margaret Martin PT has a whole program , Sherri Betz PT , you can access on line , it just so happens she is the person on the Bone Coach team that addresses the exercise part. Sarah Meeks PT, is widely respected, don’t actually know if she does exercise stuff on line , but you could certainly find out by googling her. And now you brought up some other potential sources here today. I’ll be curious to check them out. The people I sited were the experts included in the Osteoporosis Symposium that was offered for free this past spring. 7 filled days of information all related to natural things to do to improve your general situation with your bones. Anywhere from foods to eat, supplements to take, what blood work needs to be done before you go on any meds……., I surmise it will happen again next year . Keep your eyes out as if you participate in that you’ll get information from all aspects of osteo stuff. Good luck …. Keep exercising in a smart way at the level you can . Not everyone with osteo issues can participate in the high intensity training , but if you’re able to GREAT!!

@barbakp @sueinmn Id like to respond to the idea that the Bone Coach is a "scam". I am enrolled in this program and have to say that I am concerned that you would immediately draw a conclusion without knowing more about the program and what it offers. It is an extremely well researched, professional and extensive program with 5 coaches, 3 of them PhD's, one nutritionist and a Nurse Practitioner/Functional Medicine Practitioner who has been working with women for over 30 years in womens health, menapause, osteoporosis, teaches at the Functional Medicine Institute and has written books, hundreds of articles, etc.
These "coaches" are women who have thriving businesses along with their contributions to the Bone Coach Program and are highly educated in the field of osteoporosis. One part of the program alone offers 6 1-hour live Zoom calls a week with the different coaches (womens health, nutrition, stress management, exercise), and access to close to a thousand past recordings (lifetime access). That is in addition to the extensive step by step process that Kevin takes you through, so you don't get overwhelmed with the amount of information they offer.
The program is designed around identifying the causes for you specifically (ie is it estrogen, is it nutritional, is it absorption), The other target areas are Nutrition, Exercise, and Managing stress (which is closely tied to absorption as cortisol inhibits absorption of vitamins, minerals, etc) They recommend you have a: Primary Care Physician, a Functional Medicine Doctor, and an Endocrinologist on board.
With regards to marketing, Im not entirely sure why you would criticize someone for marketing their product, as anyone who wants a successful business will market their product. If anything, Kevin doesn't market it enough, as you don't really understand by looking at his website the enormous amount of information and support you get in this program. I believe he holds back because he has put so much content in his program that he does not want it stolen. And lastly, regarding cost of the program, why would that be a negative, to charge for what you get in the Bone Coach, lifetime access to all of the content...not just the Zoom calls but all of the nutrition, testing, exercises, etc.
We dont criticize anyone for hiring a Physical Therapist, a Nutritionist, a Personal Trainer, a membership at a gym. You have to pay for all of that, why is it a "scam" to pay for the extensive expertise of all of these people? The program consolidates it all together so you dont have to piecemeal your recovery plan. With all due respect I think your judgement that it is a scam is unfair.

To @bruceandruth1970, getting back to you finally. The Symposium that I spoke of and participated in this past spring was hosted by Margie Bissinger. Because the one this spring was the 2nd one , I am just assuming she’ll do another one next year. She is a Physical Therapist passionate about Osteoporosis. I would just google her to find out about her. She does pod casts all the time with very knowledgeable people in the osteoporosis world. Last year’s Symposium was the last week of March into the first week of April…. Maybe look to a similar time frame this upcoming year , though thats just my thought. Good luck!!!
