I believe that the person who did all the research and wrote about her self-experience results-- I believe that she bought a vitamin C capsule that is sold as an oral capsule and she used it intravaginally, as you would an "o.b." brand tampon, just with her finger(s). She wrote which brand she used, which she felt was the best choice. Basically, she followed the same steps in the study she cited. She said it does burn some. I have read other places of people having bleeding (spotting) from putting vitamin C up there, but in one case the person was using probably too much-- more than once a day.
I'm not sure but I would be tempted to assume that the reason the study had the participants do the treatment in the days immediately after menstruation might have to do with the fact that the pH of blood is higher than the ideal pH of 4.5 or lower, so that is often a time when things are more likely to get worse.
The person who wrote that she was successful with it also did extra things like taking b complex and other vitamins plus taking the probiotics and prebiotics. I think she wanted to be extra-sure, and I think that was smart.
Did you see the part where she said she took the probiotics and prebiotics at the same time she was doing the antibiotic treatment? She believed that was part of her success, from one of the studies she talks about.
If you get to talk with your doctor about it, idk, it may help to bring along a print-out of what the studies said.
