I’m so sorry for what you’re facing and feeling alone. Is there a senior center in your area or city? They may be able to refer you to resources to help with packing and moving. Also contact social services that may have home helpers as you go through this. You’ll most likely need help post surgery as well and it would be a good idea to schedule in advance. Reach out to your doctor’s office. They may have a resource you can reach out to. You didn’t mention family or friends but if any are close by, don’t hesitate to reach out to them for assistance. You’d be surprised they’d be happy to help if they know what you’re facing.
Best to you.

I did mention family, who can not help really.. and I don't have any close friends... Ever since the dreaded pandemic, services such as government, medical, and non profits are not very helpful... they rarely answer their phones and 98% of the time the messages you leave are never returned... are they overwhelmed? or did just they decided to continue to be in pandemic era mode of do-nothing and "work" from home attitude.. I do believe it's both, but it's a disservice to everyone seeking help. For instance, I wanted a second opinion and perhaps another surgeon than this second one I am seeing, but the person in charge of granting that has not returned my call... and it's hard to get through to this office... So I think I should just go with this Surgeon... he seems to know what he's talking about and has been a colon specialist for 42 years.. but the two appointments I had with him he seemed a little absent minded... but then again the first surgeon i had was declared the best one in this area and that surgery was not successful... so No, the medical office is not helpful.. I even spoke to a the medical Social workers about my housing issue and upcoming surgery and they were clueless and unhelpful...
