My path report say invasive ductal carcinoma with apocrine features. Does anyone know what this might mean?

I wasn't sure which time would be best but started at night and continued.

What are apocrine features? My doc didn’t discussed those with me. All I can remember she said that my cells were at grade 3 disease.

It is the characteristics of the cancer. Apparently, it is rare and more prevalent in Triple Negative. I have IDC.

No, invasive ductal carcinoma with apocrine features. They said it wouldn’t change my medication.

Apocrine features means the cells resemble sweat gland cells in their shape. I was also diagnosed with Triple Negative Apocrine breast cancer. Not a lot of research papers on it. It's supposed to be less aggressive than other types of Triple Negative but I would still look at your Ki67 value to determine how fast it's dividing. One paper said TNAC mat not be as responsive to chemo, but oncologists told me that chemo should still increase my survival. I think it was 24 percent chance of recurrence without chemo, but 12 percent with chemo. I did mastectomy because I didn't want radiation if I did a lumpectomy. I did 4 cycles of TC because I was stage 1 with no lymph node involvement. I could have done a more aggressive AC taxol regimen, but this is what I settled on. I am 1 yr from my diagnosis, and finished chemo Dec 2022
