Replies to "I have muscle twitching everywhere. I have seen a neurologist who recommended EMG to rule out..."
I have had leg muscle tightening in the last few months. My primary Dr indicated it may be electrolyte shortage. I am increasing my intake of coconut water. That has helped some. I read that dehydration can also cause those symtoms. I am increasing my liquid consumption also. I use biofreeze, orthogel, hemp rollon, Bonnie's balm, and Wisemen Healing balm (frankinscense and myrrh oil) to give some nearly immediate relief. Compression socks also help. My discomfort moves around in the calf and thigh muscles in both legs. I use these on hand and wrist tightenings also with some success. Not sure we are in the same boat, but might be worth trying... another 1949'er Ken.
Thanks for your reply. Mine have been going on for a year. Went to primary and he explored de-hydration. This was early on. He eventually sent me to a neurologist who recommended EMG. Had 2 plus head to toe MRI, everything normal which was a relief. No ALS. my twitching has progressed to anywhere on my body. Recently, cramping in my forearms. Sucks to get old😂
Hello @pauliwog1949. Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I noticed your two posts on muscle twitching, so you will notice that I've moved your post into a discussion on benign fasciculation syndrome that can be found here:

I see members such as @scolio and @schuelle have joined you. What have you been doing since the diagnosis and has anything helped?
Is this what your diagnosis was?
