Finally got my NETSPOT Scan approved by my medical insurance
Praise God!! My insurance denied my first NETSPOT pet scan due to the nurses not sending them the results of my biopsy. I finally got approved and we are on the road to treatment!! I had my EGD/EUS last week and my pancreas is in the clear. God is so amazing because I have been praying for approval so we can get the ball rolling. I'm not sure wat treatment may end up being but I'm just thankful I can get this on the road and possibly far behind me...as I pray the same for US ALL!!

What is NETSPOT?
@tomrennie
Thank you. I never heard it called that before.
U are welcome! This is a new run for me but I'm here fighting to win. 🙂
Insurance can be a blessing and so frustrating at the same time can’t it? One of my recent Pet Scans was only partial paid for with the contrast portion being denied and left me paying $420. The insurance company said it was not Medicare approved and thus not covered, but they would pay for the scan. What kind of logic or reasoning says we will pay for the scan, but not the medicine that goes into the veins to make the organs visible?
Yesss...it can be frustrating and overwhelming! I'm so sorry they left u responsible for paying that portion. As if we dnt have enough on our plates. Prayers to u
I would challenge Medicare decision and ask for a review and refund. It may stem from non-specific wording on the order. The biopsy should prove NET diagnosis and diagnostic scans needed for treatment decisions. Be assertive! Best 2U!
Thank u...I did just that and got approved for it earlier this week because as u said...yes, my biopsy DID show proof....and it was the wording of the order. I'm just waiting for the call for my appointment now. Best of wishes to u as well!
I am glad your scan got approved. I will have my PET scan in late August, but I haven't check with my insurance yet, and I didn't even know I need to check the coverage. I generally just check to see if the doctor is in network or not.
I'm glad u have urs scheduled. Usually they will tell u why ID u got denied bit it's always best to check in with the facility and make sure so that u have all ir ducks in a row. I had to call but I finally got mine scheduled for August 7th at 7. Just ready to get this treatment on the road! I'm continuously praying for us ALL!!
