I was a police officer who had to take early retirement due to GAD and depression. I couldn’t do the job anymore. I didn’t want to turn into a rogue cop. SSDI until 65 it turned into regular social security but it still had a disability attachment.

I am in my 60’s now and can be on SS and earn so much a month without losing my SS disability (mental disability).
I now work part time at the city public works garage and I drive a large all purpose truck. No stress except during snowstorms. Very stressful to plow streets and municipal parking lots.
I’m doing ok now.
