I started a couple months ago on 20 mg. Fearing nausea as a side effect, I started out taking it at night. I found that after a few nights, it interfered with my sleep. I’m not sure if it reacted badly with my ambien (which I don’t sleep without) or if it was just a side effect of the Cymbalta itself. I switched to taking it in the morning with food and haven’t had any issues with it since. I’m up to 40 mg now and heading to 60 mg next week. Hoping it will eventually help with pain.
Hope this helps!

I had to get to 60mg to help with the pain. That has been my "sweet spot" for quite a while, although I am told it may need to be increased at some point. I supplement with curcumin capsules 3Xday as I have multiple pain causes and cannot take NSAIDS. It's been working for quite a while now with regular stretching & exercise and extra mindfulness exercises on bad days.
I'm finding that controlling pain requires an orchestra, not a soloist.

I am interested in your experience with Ambien. I have fibromyalgia and struggle with insomnia, which has been very bad this past week. I take 2mg melatonin and 75-100mg Trazodone, but it's not been working well lately. Doctors are so reluctant to prescribe stronger sleep meds like Ambien. I read it's meant for short term use, but know many people take it longer term. What dose are you on, how long taking, and how effective is it for you? Also, any side effects like next day tiredness? The most worrisome side effect for me is sleep walking without knowing it. Thank you.
