Maybe something gentle like prune juice? How about a cup of coffee. Good luck!
Ohhh..
I have had plenty of coffee even mocha frappes.. nothing...
Hello, that’s not normal at all call your Surgeon.
I also would check with the surgeon. Call them, don’t wait until the 24th. They will have suggestions for you, or decide if you need to be seen. Good luck, constipation is no fun.
Constipation is never a good thing especially with a newly resected sigmoid colon.
Get seen now !
I would call your surgeon right now. Don;t wait. At the very least, they can prescribe something that will help you along. You might even think about going to the ER and ask them if you don;t get an answer right away.
@bravesfan, I wanted to circle back with you. What helped get things moving for you? How are you doing?
Miralax in my coffee
Mcdonald mocha frappe..
I have been doin great until today
Just got admission to hospitals..their runner tests
For 2 days I have severe pain in left side wraps around to kidney from incision... Couldn't take it any longer and when he seen me this am he sent me stra to er.... soooo
Waiting. had ct with contrast...in back...(not.pleasant) with balloon..ouch...blood work. Iv with fluids. Keeping me
So hopefully answers in am
They don't let you go until you're farting... so that's a good sign... NG tube can be removed... but NOT until gas is passing. So... how much food and liquids have you been taking in? It's coming... just wait for it.
@bravesfan
Sorry you’re dealing with this now - hopefully your results will show nothing serious and you can continue to move on.
Question about the CT scan with rectal contrast.
How painful was it? Enough to wish you had taken mild pain pill beforehand?
They attempted to do one 4 weeks after my resection, and I about came out of my skin and could not tolerate it at all!
Now, almost 6 months later I will be having one as a pre-op to my ileostomy reversal. So of course I’m worried about the pain level.
Thanks!
