What your friend went through is my worse nightmare. I'm struggling with weather to have surgery now or after another attack. I'm complicated with only having 1 kidney and lots of abdominal surgery so potential adhesions.. I was hospitalized a few months back and I don't want to go through that again. ...
@nosurgery- I understand especially in lite of the other complications & experiences, but I would still visit with at least 2 surgeons and have this discussion. Don't decide only on what is the simpler option, but try to come to a consensus in your discussions with both Dr's. I still believe that the vast majority of doctors still take their oath of "Do no harm" serious. May God give you wisdom & disernment as you work through this. Jim @thankful
Good thoughts, @thankful.
As I may have mentioned in an earlier post, @nosurgery, it might be helpful to take another supportive person with you to your appointments. Sometimes, I have been anxious about an appointment and having a second, less anxious person than myself, was helpful in sorting through what the doctor had to say. Give it some thought, @nosurgery.

Michael Hohlweg has a book out about pain free foods with diverticulosis. There is also some special herbal tea..mmm Rachel's tea.... With all herbs that will help our condition. I encourage you to look into that.
