IO,

From everything I have read or heard, CAC always increases.

It increases with time, and it increases when one begins statin therapy as the statin begins to calcify the soft plaques.

I had almost 1600 CAC back in February. Yes, the accumulation of calcium on the arteries coming from the statins continue as it will harden the soft plaques (which is the kind you don't want). I am not taking CoCq10 because I do not have muscle and joint pains, a friend of mine with CAC of 1050 (no stent) takes it because he has side effects from statins.
My PCP ordered Rosuvastatin 10mg. but after my angiogram cardiologist increased to 20mg. I have another friend who had stomach aches and went to ER, they took him to the operation room and there was no place to put stents on, had by pass surgery and despite that he is now on 40mg. of Rosuvastatin.
