Colon cancer diagnosed Thursday 29th
I just found out I have colon cancer. Had my CAT scan today, no results yet…..praying for some good news. Just need some advice and support. Hope you’re all able to have a good weekend!

I know from the CAT scan that there is no other cancer, but two lymph nodes are enlarged but not pathologic. ( I believe that is what the report said)
I have surgery scheduled for next Wednesday. My surgeon said it looked like a regular colon cancer, and it was caught early.
Hoping for the best……I still am scared, worried, focusing on every twinge. My surgery will be robotic and they will remove my appendix and the ascending colon and the lymph nodes near the major blood vessel.
Hoping your surgery goes well!♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for sharing your story!
I love your thinking “ better than yesterday, better tomorrow”. I will keep that in Mainz after my surgery on the 19th. I am happy people don’t want surgery during the summer…….I want this out of me ASAP,
K8kent that is the same surgery I had. It’s natural to feel scared, but it sounds like you have the best case scenario as I was blessed to have. I am 7 years past the surgery and absolutely no problems. I was backed to work 10 days after my surgery.
Sbt19. Thank you for your encouraging words!!! I am praying it turns out well with no cancer in lymph nodes.
I will also have genetic testing done, as my mother, father and uncle all had colon cancer.
I started this thread……I had surgery on Wednesday, the19th. I haven’t heard the biopsy results yet. I feel pretty good, walking a lot. Again trying to stay positive as I wait for news on lymph nodes. Hoping for the best news!🙏
Thanks for replying, The 13 lymph nodes were negative so that's good news, I have my PET scan done this week so my treatment will depend on that outcome and my labs. See the oncologist again on the 10th.
It's been 4.5 weeks since surgery and I continue to heal, no major issues. Just seem to have an area of discomfort on right side, right at the bottom of ribs not sure what that is. Everything else is going fine.
I hope you are doing well and have received the best news concerning biopsy results!!
Best wishes going forward!
Paul
Wonderful news!
I had colorectal surgery in February 2022 after a routine colonoscopy.
Fortunately it was stage 1 with no spread to lymph nodes.
After the hospitalization I felt normal and could continue with my normal activities
Wishing you good news and a quick recovery.
How are you doing, @k8kent? Any update?
