I wish you luck. Because of insurance denying medications, as many do to treat autoimmune, specifically fibromyalgia are off script AND they don’t want to pay for brands which many are, I have gone through 5 types of medications for hypersomnalence. I am currently on one that unfortunately is shorter lived in my system than the 10 hours, but during it’s effective period, it gives me a feeling of “well being”, not an “upper”, and gives me part of the day to look forward to.
Good luck to you, sincerely. Stay hopeful and don’t give up. Your health, just like others with a visible alignment, and it is as critical and you should be treated as such. You have the right as any individual to request and expect the proper care and treatment. You should not be categorized as a “less than” patient by insurance or providers, and be put in the easy care/denial column. If you are finding that, contact the medical condition’s associations, or look into renowned medical facilities and highly regarded teaching universities for care. They do care and have specialists that coordinate between departments which is often needed with autoimmune issues. Many have satellite locations and virtual coordination.
Best wishes for a journey with relief.

@megankk thank you so much for your kind words.
I am currently waiting for pre-approval from my insurance company for the medication prescribed to me for the hypersomnia. It is Armodafinil.
Did you take that?

I also started taking the amino acid, L-Tyrosine. It’s supposed to help with fatigue. So far I haven’t noticed anything happening…

I have watched videos from the Idiopathic Hypersomnia Foundation. There’s really not a lot to say about this disorder right now…

Now, it’s time for bed. I’m tired 😴

@megankk just a follow. My insurance company has approved the medication, I haven’t gotten it yet, it looks like it’s going to be a bit expensive.
