I never took any medication other than occasional Tylenol or Advil .and reached the age of 79 so far poo poohing those that had regime of daily pill taking. Other than both knee replacements, rotator cuff and prostate removal at 55, I have enjoyed good health. Then I was diagnosed with polyfibromyalgia and put on prednisone. My next blood work my A1C was 7.1 and my doc put me on metformin and glipzide. At this time I ate huge amount of candy (because it was there) and my next blood work my A1C shot to 9.6. This got my attention so I shut off ALL sugars, white bread, and any thing that LOOKED like it had sugar, and nothing fried. I ate lots of grilled catfish, at least two fresh tomatoes everyday, baked potato with lots of butter, canned green beans and corn and semi raw steaks and I put salt on everything. My blood work 2 months later A1C IS 5.6. I don’t know if my diet changed things to achieve such a drastic reversal or not. Just offering this info…maybe an unknown combination of foods. As far as the polyfibromyalgia I feel it was quite possible I had a misdiagnosis but I’m trusting my rheumatologist and am tapering of the med and I have never had any pain since the first dose. All I can add is get second opinions.
Thank you for this information.
