Hi Hei @hei59, You are likely not finding conclusive answers, because there are many reasons that this type of fluid may build up. Only the results of the fluid tests, and possibly a CT scan will answer those questions. I know the waiting is very difficult, and it's easy to let your mind run to the worst-case scenarios, but we don't know that this is cancer.
Did the x-ray show any areas of concern, other that the fluid (IE. masses)?
Did the doctors give you an idea of how long the fluid analysis would take?

Hi,
thanks so much for your reply. The X-ray did not show anything else, no masses. He has just had a CT scan today, still waiting for results, the fluid analysis was supposed to be one week, it's now been 2 weeks and no answers yet. I am trying patiently to wait for results and keep my mind in check ( challenging) but will let you know.
kind regards
Hei

Also meant to say, We are in New Zealand with a very overloaded, understaffed public health care system hence the delay in results, super frustrating.
