Also, I neglected to mention I have been having non stop bladder infections associated with the prolapse and am now on a daily low dose antibiotic to prevent the infections. I am so concerned with all the antibiotics taken in the last year especially going into the hospital for the surgery.

Hi, I had the partial colpocleisis May 4, 2023 so only 2 months post-op. I am 71 y/o and single. My uterus was also left inside; it was said to be small-ish and no fibroids, so it remains in. I had minimal post-op pain but am still having a "twitchy" bladder, meaning my urges and difficulty to control have been an ongoing issue. My pee-stream was weak at first and emptying my bladder completely seemed difficult, but over the ensuing 4 weeks, it improved somewhat. Probably inflammation and surgical trauma that needed to resolve naturally. I am now having Pelvic Floor PT where I'm taught to exercise certain muscles to strengthen the pelvic floor. The therapist also does internal massage and stretching to address any scar tissue that may be affecting my stream and sense of control. As for UTIs, I was recommended to take D-Mannose 500mg twice daily along with Vit C 500 mg 2x a day. The D-Mannose makes the bladder lining less hospitable to bacteria and Vit C acidifies the urine, also discouraging bacterial growth. Those have helped a lot! You can get D-Mannose on Amazon. I had a hard time finding it on store shelves. I feel fairly satisfied with my surgery and believe the "twitchy" bladder issues will fade with time, or else I can try to live with it. Living with prolapsed organs was awful and my quality of life has improved (and the abdominal heaviness is gone). Good luck with whatever you choose to do!
