Hello I am joining this group to see if anyone that has has a semi hemicolectomy have experiences the same symptoms Im having. Im going on 2 years now but even a few months after the surgery I always felt like there was something stuck by the upper right quadrant - rib area. When I eat its uncomfortable and I don't dare eat until I'm full because then its pain. It's a dull cholichy type pain and feels like waves that come and go. Its after eating and at the end of the day I need to lay down and the pain usually goes away.

I was in the emergency room a week ago. They did a CT scan and they cant see anything wrong only that I am backed up. I do use the restroom daily but maybe my intestines are slower than normal now. I had a volvulus on the right side of my colon before the surgery and this is the the reason I had the hemicolectomy . It was not due to cancer.

I will again restart on Miralax as I think I will probably take this for ever and drink more water. I don't eat much so its hard to pin point if certain foods would be the cause. If its scarring in the anastomosis area what are the symptoms, complications. How can this be diagnosed? Any info will be helpful. Thank you.

Hi @cindy05 I am wondering if you ever had any resolution. I had a right side semi hemicolectomy in Sept of 23 and have been dealing with the same symptoms as you since Nov of 23.
