Ok, I bet you have heard it before. 1. Be aware of your surroundings. 2. Park your car in a lighted area. 3. Carry in your hand a small container of pepper spray ... no do not carry it in your pocket book, carry it in your hand and leave it in your hand until you are safely inside of the car.
The key words are "carry it in your hand." And,

Yep! Key between two fingers for jabbing. Many moons ago, before I had hearing loss I was the co-chair of the safety committee at my workplace for 10 years. Unfortunately, at the time living under a rock and unaware of diversity and inclusion, so topics like how to adjust for a person with a disability were not covered.
