I had Covid the first of March 2023. I had very mild case however two weeks later I developed post Covid pneumonia. This is when my smell and taste was affected. I can only smell certain scents and at various times. At times I can smell nothing. At times I can smell certain odors. But my sense of smell has never started returning to normal.
I lost my taste and smell! I’m on my 16th month! This is out of hand and there’s no control
I had Covid (really sick) November/December, 2020. My smell has returned but not my taste. Physician says it may return in time. Because of lack of taste I don’t have appetite and have lost weight. I do try to eat.
Covid 3/2020. Overall, still can’t smell and taste most things and some tastes/smells have been “assigned” a completely different taste or smell (almost always a bad one) in my brain. Some days are better than others with the smell/taste. This morning I got out of my car to walk into work and I smelled rain. I don’t get too excited when I have a “win” anymore because I know it doesn’t mean I’m “fixed” but I enjoy it for the moment. Often, I will smell something and sometimes it is a more intense smell than I know it actually is, but it is an intense whiff for a second and then gone. I feel like my brain is similar to a dying car battery: it tries to work a few times and then gives up. But we keep on trying every day, right?
