I am also 75 and 7 months post op total right hip replacement. Pain continues off and on, primarily with taking walks (1-4 miles depending on the degree of pain) 3-4 days/week at about 25 minutes/mile. I take ibuprofen or Tylenol primarily at night. It’s just nice to know I’m not alone. Others have done so much better and I really miss taking big hikes,

This morning was the first time in many years that I did not reach for the acetaminophen the minute I opened my eyes. Wow. That is something. My knee is almost pain free but the thigh bothers me a bit but it is manageable and for me that is a miracle. I have never done a big hike but I have a BIL who hikes in the mountains in CA at least twice a year. He has had many surgeries, several on his knee but as soon as he heals he is out there hiking. He cannot live without that. Of course he is 10 years younger than me. For me I feel better than I have in years. I just wish my hair would stop falling out.

You will get there! Just listen to your body. I was only in my 60's after my last revisions, and it took a year to get back to where I could hike. I still can't scramble on the rocks like I did, but enjoy life from the pathway now.
