That sounds alot Like neuropathy which is peripheral nerve damage. Which is caused by diabetes. I had burning in upper top thigh area like holding lit fire against it and was tested with needles called an EMG to determine the nerves and how they react. Good luck hope it's nothing serious

A blood infusion?? Do you mean blood transfusion where you receive blood? Be EXTRA SUPER CAUTIOUS if so, because my step mom years ago had an ulcer removed and had to put blood back in her due to a great amount of blood loss during surgery, well like 20 something years later she found out she had hep C and was from the blood that she received back, from the transfusion, she had received contaminated blood with HEP C and couldn't do anything about it because it was found out too many years later, she eventually died from it. So I would not get no blood transfusion if you can avoid it at all cost. Prayers to ya

No not transfusion. Infusion cleansing up your blood and then returning to your bloodstream. Only few doctor’s have done it
Thanks and have a great day

I think a similar treatment may have been suggested to me—it was called plasmapherisis (I’m pretty sure I did not spell that right lol).

But like @simba2018 mentioned, it was an option because I have small fiber neuropathy (a type of peripheral neuropathy, which causes burning, tingling, or numbness but not weakness or typical “pain”) that might be autoimmune. It was my understanding it was only used for autoimmune neuropathy with those kinds of symptoms, but I decided not to go for it so I don’t remember.

There are a lot of other treatments before escalating to plasmapherisis or IVIG (also an option—that is an infusion). Unless someone has joint pain, usually they’d refer to a neurologist—they treat neuropathy. I also had an EMG, but EMGs are negative in small fiber neuropathy (but not in peripheral large fiber neuropathy, which is more common).

Hope you get the answers you need and feel better soon.
