@bubbles2023 Hello. Have they discussed a NET Scan with u yet? This will determine the depth and location of the Neuroendocrine tumor. This group is very helpful with answers and information. My biopsy on March 3rd discovered a Neuroendocrine and Carcinoid tumor. My next step is the NET Scan scheduled for July 6th and then an EUS to look at my pancreas and make sure its not stemming frm there. I'm Praying healing over us ALL!
Thank you for responding! Please keep the suggestions coming!
May I ask how they found the carcinoid NET in your small intestines?
Colonoscopy with biopsy.
Your experience is so personally familiar to me. I am sorry you are going through this emotional pain. I just want to add that no matter the testing results that the Oncologist has many options for treatment and some are stabilizing the tumor and restricting ability to metastasize. I am telling you that there is reason to HOPE!
I trust this will relieve some of the anxiety we all experience with the unknown. Self -talk must remain positive to control panic.
My husband also has one in the small intestine that metastasized to the liver & spine, he has been on the Octreotide Injection for about 16 mos. & it has had no growth with MRI scans , The dr. said he would eventually like him to have it removed .
She had appt this morning with surgeon. Lesion is small (< m) and has not metastasized. PTL! Will have resection in July. See oncologist tomorrow.
Glad to join this group. My tumor on the outside of the small intestine was found in October2019. It has metastasized in my liver. I have had the tumor removed and have had a TAE procedure on both lobes of the liver. I live in Canton Ohio and go to The James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State University. We winter in Jacksonville Florida so see Dr Starr and have my monthly injection at the Mayo Clinic. The clinic is only a 5 minute drive from our Condo. My two doctors work so well together. Dr Starr is always up to date on my records. I'm doing really well, only issue is diarrhea most mornings.
No. I had a Gastritis attack and did a CAT scan and found the tumor. Doctor thinks the tumor had been there for years and had nothing to do with the gastritis attack
Have they checked ur pancreas yet? Mine were found fem my biopsy on March 3rd. Next is a NET Scan and to make sure ur pancreas is ok as well. Have ur Dr. Not discussed any treatment plans just yet?
