Wow, sorry you have shingles in your head. I had shingles when recovering from my mastectomy 10 years ago. It was mostly on my chest and some on my back. It caused extreme pain. I can't take any pain meds. I couldn't sleep at all not only from pain, but because I couldn't put pressure on it so no bed or recliner. I had to sit up without touching anything. The pain was in my chest and back only (ribcage front and back) and did not travel to limbs. I piled pillows on my desk to rest my head on and sat in my desk chair trying to sleep without leaning back. I might have dozed off a few times. The good news is that it only lasted 2.5 weeks for me.
