Chronic Pain, alternative Treatment

Posted by CiPaul @cipaul, Jul 11, 2017

I have had chronic pain for 17 years. I know what I'm going to say will be met with doubt, but please try what I say, even though it is not completely backed up by sceince. I was on heavy doses of OPIOIDS for 16 years with no help, relieveing my pain, then I started to take Kratom, for the last year I have been Pain Free!!! If you try it , you will have to try different strains, to find out what works best for you

Don't believe everything you hear. This is an amazing herb that helps pain more than opiates. The bad things are of those who take way too much kratom and get some kind of high with it. I've taken kratom for 7 years and it's be a life saver for my unrelenting chronic pain.

I don't know anything about kratom except that it's a herb. Can you provide information on what dose you take, do you need to start at a low dose and work up to higher, and where you purchase this? I have fibromyalgia pain, severe at times. Thank you.

@ripley and others, you might want to read this information posted by @sueinmn in a discussion about Kratom - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/771197/.

There is quite a contrioversy surrounding kratom. The FDA says it can be quite toxis, especially when trying to find the right dosage. It can even become as addictive as any other pain medicine, like opioids.

CBD oil helps my pain. I just got on Nortriptyline because my pain has flared up. I think it is because of the smoke. I might try Kratom, does it cause a high feeling? I do not want a high.

I believe I have commented to you before about Kratom. A shipment was seized on an episode of "To catch a smuggler" and said it was illegal to ship. While it may work for you, it is not without risks, as are pain meds, but if it works for you then I'm happy you benefit from it. I benefit from my pain meds. I've seriously heard a lot about it and they have even confiscated it from convenience stores here in Florida. I don't think people should promote pain relief medicines, rather they should advise them to see a pain specialists. I have been on pain meds too for 20 years but not heavy. I take a hydrocodone 10 every 7 hours. I may need something stronger later but for right now, I'm good.

There is controversy about it. Google it. I watch the show "To catch a smuggler" and a huge shipment was seized at the border. They said it was used by people to get high and it was also illegal to ship. I've taken pain meds for 20 years and I know ANYTHING in excess is dangerous. I am not worried about myself with the pain meds because I take one every 7 hours and after 20 years, they still work. My only concern would be how much is too much of the tea, which is what a lot of people make with it. I suggest doing research and talk to your doctor. Find a good pain management facility.

According to the show "To catch a smuggler", yes. They seized a shipment at the border. They said it was illegal to ship. I suggest researching it before you try it. They also confiscated it from convenience stores here in Florida.

Then they weren't wrong on the show "To catch a smuggler" when they seized a shipment at the border? They said the same thing. They also said it's something given to heroin addicts going through withdrawals.
