My husband was diagnosed today after a biopsy last week. He is 52. He had rapidly rising psa numbers, a clean mri but a 4k test that came back at 80. He has a PET scan scheduled in 2 weeks. Based on weird symptoms he’s been having throughout his body for months now, he is convinced it’s not contained. Hopefully he is wrong. We are in the process of transferring his care to the Mayo.

The initial diagnosis was traumatic for me in January. My PSA was 359. PC was my tastic to lymph nodes and bones. I have been on Abiraterone For four months and my PSA is now .24 and I feel great, except for my decreased libido and occasional flashes. I hope that everything goes well for your husband. You will both be learning a lot about PC and various treatments. Educating yourselves is the key to getting good treatment. Best wishes!

Wow, I cannot imagine getting that diagnosis 😢. I’m happy to hear you are doing so much better now. I have been doing a lot of research on his behalf since it is too overwhelming for him to go there. This forum site and another have been extremely helpful.

Thank you for sharing your story. Prayers that you continue to improve and heal.

I am 74, diagnosed 9 months ago with a Gleason score of 4+3 and PSA of 63 spread to 2 lymph nodes, had 20 rounds of radiation and on Zoladex for 18 months.
My last checkup in April my PSA was .25 so we all have to do the best we can and keep hanging in there.

This is not unusual. I know many veterans who are younger then 40 yrs that have prostate cancer. Can be caused by chemicals. There is so much we are exposed too. Currently my PSA level goes up and down. The doctors are monitoring my prostate. I did have a MRA, but know cancer. I don’t know we’re I fall cancer in the future?

My husband was diagnosed in December 2020 with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. Has tried every treatment available. He's now in Hospice. He was only 67 years old when first diagnosis.
