Is anyone taking this Calcium source MCHC?
I can’t find hardly any research on this form of calcium, Microcrystalline hydroxyapatite complex (MCHC). What I have found mostly comes from
Someone selling it.
Does anyone take it and what are your experiences or thoughts about it?

Hi @cpd54, I used Google Scholar and was able to find a few research type articles on MCHC (https://scholar.google.com/). This is one from Nutrition Review in 2013.

@teb discussed MCHC in another discussion and may have some experience or references to share with you.
Have you discussed the supplement with your doctor or care team?
Bone Up by Jarrow and MRM's Bone Maximizer both contain microcrystalline hydroxyapatite. It is derived from cow bone and naturally contains many minerals, some protein and collagen. It causes less of a spike in calcium blood levels but increases concentrations of calcium phosphate in the blood which is related to CV risk so a good idea to talk to your doctor about it. Making bone broth and eating bones (canned fish) may provide some of that content and benefit.
John thanks for info. When I talked with the PA about my DEXA results and wanted to hold of osteoporosis meds until I researched them further, she told me to take 2 Tums every day!!! This was the rheumatologist PA. I’ll discuss it with my FM doctor…
