New GI - SIBO test, fiber supplement, hyoscyamine?
My new GI has recommended the above and I have questions for those of you familiar with any of these things.
Have you found SIBO test results helpful?
I struggle to understand why someone like me whose issue is frequency of BMs (not necessarily the quality - they are formed not loose) should take fiber. Doc explained why but want to know if fiber has helped you with IBS-D?
Have you taken the medication Hyocyamine and has it helped?
Many thanks!

Can Sibo be smelled by others when you talk?
Sorry I know it's kind of random and off topic..just curious on too of all the other symptoms that you get with SIBO if it can come through your respiratory track or on your breath..
good question, and I would doubt it, given that it would have to go back up through the duodenum, the stomach, and the esophogus, and there are a number of valves that are one way, but if you have a hiatal hernia/sliding and/or...possible, but not probable...
however, I do wonder that you might sweat more toxins out, if you have sibo hydrogen, not so much, but sibo methane, I'm guessing that methane gas might smell more...more toxins out of the skin, and perhaps, well stinkier farts. Have you ever had a labrador dog? boy oh boy, labrador farts STINK!
actually if it can be picked up on a breath test, then probably can be
my best guess
Hi, @marlenec - I realize it's been awhile since you posted on SIBO testing and hyoscyamine. However, I wanted to mention that I have taken hyoscyamine for gut issues that arose for a very different reason than yours likely did. This was due to taking semaglutide (Wegovy), which at times caused relentless abdominal cramping. My cramping sometimes got so bad I could hardly sit at my desk and work. the hyoscyamine did help me a lot.
Did the hyoscyamine help with your flare ups? Did you eventually learn if you have SIBO?
