Bone Coach - How do you know it works?

Posted by sheilad1 @sheilad1, Dec 13, 2022

I have seen several people here joined Bone Coach. How do you know your osteoperosis is better. The testimonials talk about general health improving which adherence to any healthy diet may have done the same.
There is no science shown. It's pricey but worth it if it works.

But it looks like Dr. McCormick sells his own supplements, right? Does that not make you wonder if he is pushing his own products? Also, is he an MD or a chiropractor? Thanks!

I just take collagen which I get from him. He didn't recommend anything else and you don't need to get it from him. He doesn't push anything. He is actually low key and doesn't market himself at all. I understand what you are saying and I'm very leary of that practice in general but not with MCCORMICK. He's been very honest with me. My primary simply had Fosamax mailed to my home. Ugh. McCormick saved me.

I was told to take specific supplements from a functional doctor. There are so many out there and you want the right ingredients. I compared my supplements to Dr Mc Cormicks and they are the same. His are less expensive.
He sells a specific type of collagen powder with fortebone that’s proven to help bones. Same with the calcium supplemts.
He is on a mission to help others. He had osteoporosis himself and 12 fractures. He used forteo to help his bones.

jennifer1060, I've been following Dr McCormick for years and have both his books. All his information is based on medical facts and scientific studies. I finally met with him last month. Osteoporosis is definitely a passion for him.

I am on the verge of signing up for Bone Coach. I finally tried alendronate (fosamax) for 4 months but discontinued because of intense acid reflux. Dr suggested Prolia but there is a risk of fracturing femur if stopping after 6 months? Why would I want to increase my risk of fracture? Unsure now of whether to proceed. Am taking a supplement OsteoMD and 10 g daily of collagen. Have taken Solar magnesium-calcium for many years but question whether citrate is the most available form of calcium. I do have osteoporosis and in my 70s, afraid of fracture risk and loss of mobility. Suggestions welcomed.

I have osteoporosis. My gynocologist said not to take calcium supplements. I was taking Solar magnesium/calcium supplements. Cardiologist said to take if other doctors said to take.
Nurse practitioner for Medical Oncologist did not want to say yes and said to take tums.
Seeing Nurse Practitioner for Osteoporosis at end of month,
So, with all this confusion, I am not taking calcium supplements. Some on-line sites say that calcium supplements may not work.
One doctor said to not take vitamin K supplements as mine were high a year ago. That was a year ago. Vitamin K is needed. Confusion there too.

I bought the basic program for about $29. You can upgrade that, up to $8000 depending on the level of support you want. BUT the program is the SAME. I highly recommend you invest $29 and read it carefully and follow bone coach on Tic Toc and YouTube for great tips and recipes. I also recommend KEITH MCCORMICK. He wrote 2 books about bone health that are excellent. If you have the budget I urge you to consult with him. He was truly knowledgeable. I saw 3 doctors and went with friends to their doctors. McCormick is so much more knowledgeable than any of them.
Good luck.

@sheilad1 OK, thank you for that info. Did you mean $29/month, or a one time shot? Yes, I have seen that he is fairly available on social media. I should also tell you that I'm in process of setting up an appt with K McCormick. Gathering my testing as we speak. I have seen him speak at the Osteoporosis Symposium 2.0 hosted by Margaret Bissinger and was very impressed! And am reading his Great Bones book. I too feel like he's the real deal!! I'm not even sure what the cost is to have a zoom consult with McCormack , but feel it will be worth it. I guess my wonderment was after I consult with McCormack would it be worth it to have people on a more consistent basis to ask questions of or to get ongoing information from. I guess I'm feeling less that will be needed now . Thanks again for answering my questions!! Good luck to you as well!!

@timely medical people are encouraging calcium through food rather than supplement, but if you don't get enough from food you need supplements. I have a dairy allergy and take 800mg calcium each day, less than the recommended but my levels are always okay. The recommendation is 1200mg total from diet and supplements combined, per day.

I subscribe to ConsumerLab.com that shares peer reviewed research about health products from vitamins to sunscreen and much more. This site says that ingesting collagen is a waste and does nothing to help. I trust this source as does my doctor. I’m going to take a hard pass on Dr. McCormick.

@sheilad1 so do you know how much joining the “BoneCoach“ program actually costs? And can those who have joined please chime in. I have taken a deep dive into self learning but it would be nice to live my life and know I’m being guided by people in the “know” that I can communicate easily with. Thanks!!!

I am currently doing the basic self-led Bone Coach program and have found it to be the most helpful resource I have found so far. There is a lot of wonderful state of the art information on nutrition, exercise, and medical issues as well as needed labs for osteoporosis. It is great having all this information in one place. It is very well organized and as many of you know doing the research on this can be very overwhelming with lots of varying opinions. It comes with 2 group coaching calls otherwise you are on your own with it unless you upgrade to the more expensive packages that include numerous weekly group coaching calls and opportunities to consult 1 on 1 with their expert team. I would recommend starting out with the basic package and then upgrade later if needed. You have lifetime access to the program which is updated regularly. They offer the basic self-led program for around 780.00 but if you decline they will make a cheaper offer. They take a whole body/functional medicine approach but are supportive regarding medication when needed. Best of luck to you!
