Neuropathy moving from feet to legs

Posted by tessie63 @tessie63, May 15, 2023

I have neuropathy in my hands and feet from three sessions of chemo I had about three years ago now. I have a lot of pins and needles in both my hands and feet but no pain which is a blessing I guess. These pins and needles are none the less annoying. I drop a lot of things and am unable to open things without help. I live by myself and have had to formulate my own ways to do so many different things. I am now experiencing these pins and needles climbing up my legs and that worries me. Has anyone else experienced this? If so have they stopped there or is it possible for them to go else where in my body?

Burning, pins and needles. Horrible. All neurologist says it anxiety and depression. They are wrong.

Little bit of help. ??? I’m getting MRI on thoracic spine, cervical too. Look up injury to thoracic spine, does it fit? I had injuries in 2006, 2014 about. Horse and big post and a gate. Any injuries to you?
It’s my last hope

Unfortunately, yes, it can go elsewhere. At times, I feel it n my upper legs and my arms.

So far, the pins and needles are limited to my legs, and the simmering, burning pain is in the shins at night.

OMG 22 surgeries of the spine! Surely you jest!? I mean you have a sense of humour but really that’s nothing to joke about! The fact that you can even joke about it is amazing! I think I am bad off but you take the cake! We have to laugh at life I guess after all what’s the alternative. I’m waiting for my Mineral Ice to come and make me feel better or maybe I should just have a glass of wine! Sometimes that works better than anything else
Lol! God bless hugs

Good morning! Tessie,
I don't know if I was: Lost; Traded or stolen this past 8-10 days'. I finished installing/setting-up the new Router. Now I have to put the "Vacu-Aide" Suction Unit together! I've got SO much Phlegm in my lungs and esophagus that won't release so I can evacuate it, I'm forced to use a suction machine and...well, U no the rest!!!
Need to make this a little bit short, as I have church service via the internet and also finish connecting the dots to hook up the unit.
I replied back to your text about the 'Mineral Ice', going out to Amazon & a few other tidbits'. BUT just as I was about to it, the Router threw in the towel! I will get back with you ASAP or sooner!
BTW, I just got an E from the Athletic Dept @ the University. They are claiming to now have a more potent form of Biofreeze roll on! this info was in my last text-that probably ended up in the Ukraine! I'll be in touch...
Take care!
Ric

I have the same problem. Tried duloxitine (sp). Didn’t help. I’m taking gabapentin now. Can’t tell if it helps. Giving it more time. It’s miserable

Gabapentine works for me to a point but not totally. I started on it for a different Neuro issue when the neuropathy in my feet started . I had forgotten my meds a couple of times in a row and found out it made a big difference in my feet. I was on Gabapentin for 3 months before it started to work for. Y other issue. I think it needs to build up or something. I also spread out the pills over the day rather than just a morning and night time doses.I find that keeping the med at an even blood level helps.

I have Chemo-induced Peripheral Neuropathy. Although I have neuropathy everywhere, the progression up my legs has been happening. I was told that the neuropathy is progressive, there is no cure, just managing the symptoms. I take Cymbalta.

To cipnsue I have neuropathy caused from chemotherapy as well. I am not young so time and the healing factor is not on my side. Nerves can heal but it takes a long time and it depends how bad the neuropathy is. I am lucky in that I have no pain other than the burning and extreme numbness in my fingers. Are you in a lot of pain? Pain pills do not help with the numbness so I am slowly going off them in the daytime. Nighttime is different though and I remain on my pain medication for that. The worst pain was in my legs and if I go off my pills for that I fear it will return. I hope you will find what helps you the best in fighting this dreadful
illness. Wishing you all the best.

I agree with you in that Gabapentin took a couple months to reach it’s noticeable consistent level of help for me, and that taking it at regular intervals is much better in keeping that consistent help (or else it may take a day to level off again for me)
