Anyone taking liothyronine 5mcg? What side effects do you have?
hello everyone, i've been through my 2 surgeries for removal of the thyroid. had the radioactive iodine, the high dose. had the full body scan. now the dr. wants to put me on the liothyronine 5mcg. well, i just looked up some of the "common" symptoms, i already have some of those and i don't want any more, plus i do have the osteoporosis. yes, i know, this is suppose to help me feel better. how can that be? so is there anyone else out there that is taking this and are you having any of the symptoms that is showing for this drug? i take the levothyroxine 100mcg. not complaining and i do not have a diploma on the wall, just hate the fact of having to be dominated by any medicine and i know how scary it is for all of you that are just starting with all the wondering and what if's, the same as i did, its different for each and everyone of us but just know, i pray for everyone on here and their own special journey. blessings to all.

Hi @lilyann, fellow members @1chuchie @jmk1 @jean78 @annabelle6dawgs have experience with liothyronine for regulation of the thryroid. In fact, @lghccgirl1960 started this related discussion in the Endocrine System support group:

Lilyann, have you added liothyronine to your regimen now?
hi colleen, i started to read up on the side effects and did not like what i seen and truth be told, i just couldn't bring myself to take a chance on even the "common" side effects. i do understand that all this is put out there and so glad to be able to read about side effects and the fact that the benefits out weigh the symptoms you are suffering. it would be nice if in fact it would have made me feel better, something i will not know by not taking it. i would just as soon not deal with any more problems than i already have. i have read some comments somewhere, some are ok with it as others are not. i may have cut my nose off to suit my face. so maybe someone else on here will be able to tell us their experience. wishing wellness to everyone.
