The article states that there is no difference on BRFS or OS in patients who are older than 70 years old who did not take the Lupron shot. My case is a little different as I have been on TRT since 2008 with Androgel. I just completed the 5 proton radiation treatments for my cancer 46 days ago. My radiation oncologist wanted to jab me with a six-month Lupron shot but I told him I didn't need it because my endocrinologist and I had already stopped my testosterone replacement to see why my T was low and I went castrate almost immediately. So he then had me tested after I stopped on my own and I came out with 12ng/dl. It has been122 days ago when I stopped and I still have no urges or anything happening with him. He wanted me to wait two years before going back on replacement, but I meet with a urologist the day after my first PSA test and follow up visit. I will start back with replacement then. I don't know why I even stopped in the first place given my age of 74 other than to hedge my bets on a positive outcome.
