Repeat Kidney biopsy at clinic visit?

@renrussie

I’m 10 weeks post transplant at Rochester. I’m scheduled for a 4 month follow up in early August. My appts take 2 days. I do blood, urine, biopsy the first day. Talk to nephrologist and others the second day. It’s possible they will do more for a new patient, but they to to pack the days, rather than force you to spend weeks. I suggest you specifically ask them ahead of time about a biopsy. Since the last one had some issues, they may agree that a repeat is wise.

Thanks for your comment! Like I said so far I have blood labs schedule the first day then I see my nephrologist the second and have a chest scan. I called last week to nephrology and confirmed they recieved everything and my prior biopsy info. I assumed the doctor must have looked over all that bc I’m assuming the chest scan is because my local nephrologist recently diagnosed me with sarcoidosis (even though other docs disagree and it doesn’t quite seem to fit) so maybe that also means that my Mayo doc looked at the biopsy already?

And also when I called I asked if I could epexct it and they said it just depends. I just wanted to ask here because I didn’t ever know if impromptu procedures like that get added after your doctors visit while there

Plus I know everything is patient to patient basis and varies but no clue if this is something unheard of or not
